Project Absolutes
The initial master planning identified one overriding objective that the renovation and expansion must accomplish: Fix the Building.
In this case, fixing the building means two things:
1. Replacing the existing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
2. Providing universal accessibility for all by complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Project Imperatives
During the master planning process over 200 meetings were held with students, building occupants, faculty, staff, former students, and other segments of the Aggie family. From that input, the planning team developed a set of imperatives to guide the renovation and expansion project. These imperatives are:
Create a More Welcoming Space for Students
Promote the Rich Tradition and History of Texas A&M
Reinstate the MSC as the Campus Gathering Place
Reflect the MSC's Role as the Gateway to Campus
